Why I started Karate

I started training as a karate student in January 2004 at 47yrs of age, after watching my daughter Stephanie & the other children. I enjoyed it, so I thought that I would try karate for myself.

Why I continue to do Karate

I still like doing karate for various reasons, for exercise, it is good form of aerobics as well as building power & strength. Karate also teaches focus, concentration & builds confidence, it is a very sociable family oriented club

Why I teach Karate

I really enjoy teaching the youngsters, because I feel it is a way of putting something back into the club and I get satisfaction helping the youngsters through their early stages & 1st gradings

Courses I have done:

  • First aid
  • How to teach children and young people
  • Coaching disabled performers ( practical )
  • "Safeguarding Children- a shared responsibility" training
  • CRB checked
  • Sports Hall Leaders - St Helens District Council Volunteer Award
